About Romance Writers Online
Romance Writers Online (RWO) is a nonprofit trade association chartered in 1995 whose mission is to advance the professional and common business interests of career-focused romance writers through education and networking. We are a 501(c)6 corporation incorporated in the State of California.
RWO works to provide members with the education opportunities needed to learn their craft and present the best quality product to the romance fiction market. RWO support the efforts of its members to pursue a full-time career writing in the field of romance fiction, or a part-time career that generously supplements their main income.
What is Romance Fiction?
RWO recognizes the definition of romance fiction as a work that contains a central love story and the resolution of the romance is emotionally satisfying and optimistic.

Membership:
Romance Writers Online membership is open to published and unpublished romance fiction writers who are interested in creating and maintaining a long-term career writing romance fiction. Members may be either published or unpublished romance fiction writers. Membership applicants must be of majority age in their state of residence. All Members must attest to serious pursuit of a romance writing career. All Members must agree to the definition of romance fiction.
Leadership
Marina Reznor, President
Marina writes contemporary romance and is the author of the Kingsbury Town Football Club romance series.
Marina is in her first term as President of Romance Writers Online, and her current term will expire December 31, 2023.
Chelle Cordero, Vice President
Chelle is a writer and dreamer who believes it’s easy to write Happily Ever Afters when you’re living it for real. A recent transplant to Pennsylvania, Chelle and her husband Mark now live a short drive from their honeymoon locale 46 years ago.
Chelle is in her first term as vice-president of Romance Writers Online, and her term will expire December 31, 2023.
Patti Fischer, Treasurer
Patti writes contemporary romance and lives in the Pacific Northwest, where she occasionally has success growing flowers. She has been a member of Romance Writers Online since 2005.
Patti is in her first term as treasurer of Romance Writers Online, and her term will expire December 31, 2025.
Karen N Jones, Secretary
Karen writes romantic suspense with a time-traveler in her first book and a touch of paranormal in the others. Being a writer and chapter officer enables her to do things she enjoys: learning, help others, and getting ideas for her projects . . . make that ideas for her characters.
Karen is a past-president of Romance Writers Online, and is in her first term as secretary. Her term will expire December 31, 2023.
